Here is some light reading for you.
Fox Guide: Getting Started, Your First Steps in DUST Fox Guide: DUST Economics 101, Not going Broke Fox Guide: Frontline, A Medium Frame Infantry Users Manual Fox Guide: Sniping, The Role of the Sniper Fox Guide: Marksman, Taking Sniper to the next level Fox Guide: Swarm Launcher, Unleashing the Swarm Fox Guide: SMG, Unlocking Versatility Fox Guide: Remote Explosives, Unleash the Mad Bomber Fox Guide: Battlefield Roles (A Glossary of terms) Fox Guide: Squad Lead, Stepping up to Command Fox Guide: HMG Heavy, The Mighty Minmatar Minigun & the Titans That Carry Them Fox Guide: Rail Tankers Tactical Handbook
I would suggest starting by reading Fox Guide: Getting Started, Your First Steps in DUST as it gives advice for figuring out what you want to do without spending too many skill points. The 10 million skill points is enough to make you very effective in one role, but will not go far if you scatter them all over the place. So figure out what you want to do, before you spend too much of your SP.

Fuyetama wrote:Thanks for the replies. I'll create a couple of new characters and see what playstyle I like, and what weapons I like to feel of. I've not read up on weapons yet, there's so much to get my head around before I even got that far, so I've no idea what ones to consider.
I'll get back to you once I've got a bit more of an idea, but I'll leave my current SP intact for now, and not go spending it until I'm better informed. If you have more than one email address you can also setup a second PlayStation Network account, which will allow you to have a second character with Passive skill points active. I find that useful for being able to focus on one role with one character for optimal efficiency, while using the other character to be a generalist and try a bunch of stuff. Of course I did it backwards, as Fox is my generalist and my Alt is the one focussed on one role.

Medical Crash wrote:since infantry AV has been shat on with tremendous force as of 1.8. I would go into tanks. They are the only thing keeping other tanks in check atm. all modes will have tank spam, if you kill a tank vet with that was most likely using his blaster maddy, then next life he will pull out a multi DMG modded railtank to takr you out, followed by a "get gud" troll message.
can't have fun playing infantry unless someone has "tank duty" covered. The one down side to this is that even with Milita tanks being way cheaper than they used to be, you will still loose ISK tanking unless you are really good. I lost about 15 million ISK while researching for my Rail Tank guide.

Also, Fuyetama, ask your CEO for ISK for skill books. That is what the tax rate at DUST University is supposed to be for, to generate ISK to help new players buy Skill Books. Explain your situation, how you have 10 million unallocated skill points, but only 1.6 million ISK. With 10 million skill points and only 1.6 million ISK you are going to have to save ISK for Skill Books before you can spend the Skill Points.
Your CEOGÇÖs DUST character is Kevall Longstride. DennieFleetfoot is his EVE character, but EVE characters canGÇÖt transfer ISK to DUST characters, so you may as well sent the mail to Kevall.
